I love my school only because of the Floyd academy. Floyd academy is another school inside the school. It’s for kids with anxiety and social problems, including kids that have exceeding grades to were they can graduate early same with kids who don’t have many credits they help to get you on track in no time. The teachers are amazing they are really like family. We recently just decorated our side of the school with paper snowflakes and chains hanging from the ceiling let me tell you…that was a lot of paper but the teamwork and leadership portrayed was what makes Floyd academy what it is the place to be yourself but learn to be with a team and grow yourself in the process to. Yea Floyd academy is great!
I love attending William Floyd High School! There are so many ways to be interactive with the wide variety of sports and clubs that are offered at the school. The sports teams are really good depending on the sport. The faculty is also great. Some teachers have won awards and the counseling center along with the deans help a lot with any issues you may come across. The school contains a wide variety of kids with different ethnic backgrounds or cultures. The administration does their best to try and keep the school safe and orderly however this year there have been more fights and stricter regulations on clothes, especially targeting girls, as well as restrooms which may make the school feel closer to a military school rather than a public school. The school food is gross, I personally don't like it, and they serve us reduced fat chips which clearly taste different than regular ones.
William Floyd Highschool embraces all types of interests and cultures. The school has CTE programs such as medical, barbering, cosmetology, culinary, and carpentry. The school embraces and enhances the skills and aspirations of every student. Furthermore, the school also has clubs that enhance the interests of all students. Clubs like Bible club, Robotics, Youth and Government, Foreign Honor Society, and gaming club. However, one issue with the school is the struggle posed by immigrant students when adapting to the school while attempting to adapt to a new country. A majority of foreign students come into the school not understanding English completely. It's difficult to navigate through the school since the majority of the signs, teachers, and guidance counselors only speak English. Most of the newcomers I've met complain about how disorganized their integration is with constant schedule changes and miscommunication
