I came into the Willard school district with high hopes. We purchased a home in the district because of the good things we heard. Elementary through intermediate were great. Unfortunately middle school has been a nightmare for my son. He has ADHD and is short. Because of this he has been bullied unmercelessly. The administration has paid lip service to protecting him. The staff has been unable to handle the challenge of teaching a child with attention problems. There is definitely a one size fits all approach. I have my son in therapy to help with effects of bullying. The therapist told me she has many children she sees because of this very same problem in this very same school district.

Teachers are very closed minded about teaching techniques. I was shocked to find almost none of them had experience or desire to work with ADHD kids. One teacher actually told my son it was just an excuse when he was struggling. In this day and age I find this unnaceptable
My son was bullied mercilessly. Many of the kids who bullied him were on the football team. Only lip service paid to anti bullying. The attitude of intolerance comes from the top down.
