Wichita Falls High School is a very old building; however, it is still full of life. Even though the school is small the amount of effort some of the students put into the school is incredible. The school doesn't look like much, but it is flourishing with culture and traditions. As a whole the school can be seen as average, but inside are some of the most amazing people I have met. Mr. Inniss, Mrs.Pepper, and Sgm. Montez are only a few of the teachers that give 110% to their students. Sometimes students complain about the school because it's so small and old; however, I wouldn't change it to another school. Covid has dramatically affected my high school experience, but WFHS has still made it amazing. I am and will graduate a proud coyote!
Wichita Falls high School has been an institution for learning for over a hundred years in our town. It is steeped in deep faithful traditions that have been a staple for the coyote family for decades. My mother, two of my grandmothers, several cousins, aunts and uncles have all attended and graduated from Wichita Falls high School. The school as a whole is a family. We all love and respect each other as students and as peers. Wichita Falls high School is incredibly unique in so many ways. From the moment I walked in the front door as a freshman I knew instantly this was the place that I wanted to spend my high school career. The education I received and the life skills I was taught have not only helped me in my everyday life but will catapult me into a successful career in the future without a doubt. As a varsity football player the traditions of this institution only get stronger and deeper. Whether it's Junior varsity freshman football or varsity we are all one team and one family.
I had a very negative experience in my time at this school. The teachers were generally bad at their jobs, and often made the students uncomfortable with their actions and words. One particular teacher told me that I would not get anywhere in life due to a speech impairment, and another treated me like the least important student in the class. I was discouraged from following my chosen career path. On the other hand, there were some highlights- one of the teachers there was supportive of my interests, and talked to me about them in a way that didn't feel condescending. Altogether though, I would not recommend this school, as I had an overall negative experience there and do not feel as though they prepared me for college.
