Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School Reviews
Rating 3.92 out of 5 226 reviews
Whittier Tech was one of the best decisions I made. I was able to take classes like Criminal Justice and Biotech Forensics and My trade in Autobody & Repair course was amazing. The staff are very nice and helpful and if you play sports like I did Football is my life. My parents and Admin/ teachers are very close, and my mom can call at any time, and she gets the respect or whatever issue handled in a professional and timely manner. No School is perfect but this one comes very close!
I enjoy the school as a tech school but the classes aren’t as fun, I get that school is boring but I feel that I have learned the SAME thing each year. I was also promised an elective instead of Spanish but that was ripped away because of COVID-19 in freshman year. I do wish they was more activities like homecoming during the school year but other than that the school is high quality and fun!
If you don’t want the typical high school experience- go here. The pros: your academics are balanced with job experience in the technical area of your choosing. The cons: No school events (besides senior prom), no AP classes, very small and limited arts programs (that deserve way more attention and were almost cut completely last year). The one thing I liked the most is the fact that I rarely had a teacher I didn’t like. The majority of the teachers are so caring and helpful. The administration, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. Large, diverse student body. GREAT if you intend to NOT go to college and go into a trade like plumbing or carpentry. Also great for NURSING students!
