While attending Whittier High School I have had some amazing teachers and come in contact with some awesome students. I am in sports and I can say that the coaches are just as supportive as the teachers. Academics at Whittier highare taught by well educated teachers and the staff offer many resources such as afterchool help toassist students if they are ever struggling. The atmosphere is very positive at Whittier High with students involved clubs and sports. On the other hand, I believe Whittier Highcould work on its cleanliness and out-reach to students. Student's trash should be maintains to create a cleaner environment others would enjoy coming to. Also students should be informed of all education opportunites so they can take advantage of all the resources they can before going to college.

I loved my experience at Whittier High. The classes were rigorous and prepared me for the level of rigor at UC Berkeley. My teachers were fun and knowledgeable and the programs that were available to me were great. I was enrolled in AP courses and was glad that Whittier had the resources and facilities to study subjects like AP chemistry, physics, human anatomy, calculus, and French. The social aspect at Whittier is amazing. They spend so much money making sure that students love their high school experience and and remember their years at Whittier fondly, as I do.
Depending on what teachers you get, the experience could be either fantastic or terrible. There are those who are really helpful, kind and truly want their students to succeed. Some are the exact opposite and give you no help whatsoever. There’s a good amount of clubs and student organizations on campus from what I’ve seen but they’re not really given much help in recruiting unless it’s ASB. The school also has a good variety of classes offered, but many of the more interesting classes are only offered during specific class periods which makes for a lot of scheduling conflicts so many students can’t take what they actually want to. Classes are really crowded and can easily be 40 students to a single teacher. The sports teams aren’t great and school spirit is a bust. There’s been some issues with bullying on campus, particularly towards LGBT students and many of the students here get high on a daily basis. Some people here are truly amazing, if you look hard enough.
