I love Whittier High School! The things I love most are the teachers and the sports. Teachers really want to see the students succeed and possibly go to college. The sports aren't the best, but the coaches are dedicated to the sport and their athletes. The teachers and the sports teach every student to succeed in life and that there will be complications along the way. This is why I love Whittier High School.
I transferred to Whittier High last year and it has been such a positive and motivating experience. The teachers, counselors, and staff have been so helpful and encouraging. My grades and motivation has increased majorly and I feel that the environment of the school has been more relaxful for me. The campus itself is very safe, the safety protocols of the school are very organized. I play Varsity volleyball and from my first day my team mates and amazing coaches have been so supportive. They have made me fall in love with the sport all over again. Overall the entire culture of the school is very positive. I was nervous to change schools at first but I am extremely glad that I did. The only thing I would like to see change is maybe better food. But then again it is so much better than my previous school. Not to mention I am a picky eater.
Something that I liked about attending Whittier High School was the welcoming environment the school provided and the various resources that were available and easy to access. They offer many higher level courses as well. However, something that I would have liked to see changed is the flexibility in schedules for people in sports. Many people often have to sacrifice academics in order to pursue their interest.
