From Whitmore School

Whitmore School's mastery-based learning focuses on students' strengths and achievements. Our individually paced approach eliminates the "need for speed" and allows students to learn at their own natural rate. In the process, students master important life skills such as time-management, critical thinking, effective communication, independence and responsibility.

"At Whitmore School, we remove many of the barriers and stress associated with a traditional education. We are a school without walls, dress codes, late bells and social drama.

Here, your intellect is celebrated, your creativity is applauded, and your drive is rewarded!"

Ellen Ray, Principal

Self-Paced Mastery-Based Learning

Self-paced mastery learning means that students work at the pace most comfortable to them. Because there are no semesters, students will not get pushed ahead before they have the skills to move on. Nor will they get held back by the pace of other students. For example, students skilled in math may move through their course fairly quickly, while they take their time in other subjects.
