Whitesburg Christian Academy is lacking in many areas. Academically, they don’t have a STEM program, Honor classes, nor do they have AP classes. In addition, they don’t have any form of a performing arts program. When you ask about these programs, they show very little interest in getting any of them. The school has no true diversity. The entire teaching staff is White and so is the student body from pre-K - 12th grade, with the exception of 8 or 9 children. Unfortunately, the school is unable to properly handle racial issues that have occurred which provides a negative impact as well. For example, allowing students to pass out KKK fliers and not reprimand them should not be tolerated. This is just one incident. When comparing Whitesburg Christian Academy to public schools and other private schools in the area, Whitesburg Christian Academy, doesn’t compare with the other schools.

Love this school. My kids have gone her since kindergarten. We moved overseas for a few years and came right back to the Academy. Academics are outstanding and the caring, family atmosphere is like no other. Love our Academy family!
My feelings regarding the school are mixed. The community feel is second to none. Some teachers have customized effective cirriculum which has rendered me well educated in certain areas. Mrs. Chandler, for example, has created an english department which is excellent. The incoming english teachers, however, are not nearly as effective as Mrs. Chandler and are stripping away her cirriculum. The same is true with Bible. In the sciences, the staff is finally professional and effective, but many of the teaching materials are from the notoriously biased and even bigoted Bob Jones University- which did not allow students of different races to date until 2008. The admonistration is clearly working hard to change the school, but there is still a lot of work to be done. The arts are shockingly under-funded. The biggest problem this school has is its diversity. This school is a sea of white, conservative, protestant children. There are zero non-white teachers!
