Just an immature teacher population. Does not seem like they were ever able to accomplish their personal goals, and this is something they project onto their students. The school resource officers have ego problems, and that is the very tip of the iceberg. It's hard to have respect for these people. But we must remember to display some sympathy for them, they are living inside of their limits of fear that they've subconsciously learned, probably from their teachers and parents a long time ago. The best medicine is sympathy!
I generally enjoy it but it’s a small town school so it has its draws. I feel it puts a greater emphasis on athletics then academics and as a more academic person I don’t really appreciate that. It is also a district hesitation to change. As student body president I run into that a lot. Half the staff is really great and cares a lot about their students. On the other hand 1/4 of the teachers are warn down and seem ready to retire but don’t.
A few teachers at WHS approach their work with a certain level of personal agenda—and I don't mean political—that they take out on students. Often, a few teachers will engage in gossip with the students, which is 100% fine on its own—until they use it to form ultimately misguided opinions on students. I.e., a select few teachers have demonstrated unfair and unprofessional biases against high school students.
