I have been to White Knoll all of my life and Ive cherished every year preciously. I love how the school gives students great opportunities whether if its hands on learning, or enlightening students on upcoming events. I also love the unique falcuty members, which makes the school even better. The teachers are absolutely amazing! They make sure that the academic concept is met by every student, even if it takes one on one learning tutoring. Although White Knoll is an sterling school, I wish some things could change. For instance, I certainly wish that the school could abate the dress code for girls. At White Knoll, the dress code policy is specifically directed towards female clothing. Personally, the rule itself is not fair, and I hope that it's disposed in the future.
Review White Knoll High School
White Knoll isn't a bad school. It really could be worse. I have had a humiliating experience with the chorus teacher and a terrible PE class. I have experienced racism and ignorance in this school, especially as a person of color. If you manage to get a gem of a teacher, hold on to them! Some teachers will assist you one on one, but prefer you to go to the help labs. I feel as if the guidance counselors really do want you to succeed and be ready. Some people I know are in the band, and it takes up lots of time and doesn't let them focus on their academics.
Attending White Knoll has its ups and downs. Our academics are hit or miss; some departments are wonderful while others are atrocious. Myself and my classmates have flourished under excellent teachers just as often as we've been driven to emotional breakdowns by empathy-lacking teachers who assign hours and hours of homework each night and neglect their teaching duties within the classroom. Our computer labs are dated but mostly functional, our hand driers are almost always broken, and many departments and clubs lack funding that is readily thrown to the football team and the marching band. It's a great disappointment to me that the school will no longer offer many honors courses; this will greatly hurt students gpas. Overall, the school is pretty diverse. Fights are commonplace, and leaving your stuff lying around alone is not recommended, but overall it's relatively safe. All in all, it's definitely not the best school out there, but it could be worse.
