Wheeling High School is a very welcoming and diverse environment. There are a lot of different clubs and activities that students can join. Wheeling offers rigorous AP classes to help students learn time and stress management, as well as studying and problem solving skills. Wheeling is a STEM school and offers courses such as nanotechnology not found in many schools, but it also boasts a large and successful Fine Arts department. If I was to improve Wheeling High School, I would urge District 214 to have a recycling program as there is none currently. Although recycling and being sustainable is encouraged at our school, we are not properly able to do so because the recycling ends up in the garbage, and with growing concerns about the environment, a recycling program is needed to make sure that the environment is not flooded with debris that will take centuries to biodegrade.

I love WHS. The majority of teachers care about your education and want to help their students succeed. Students are diverse and come from so many different backgrounds. This school is the underdog of the 214 District, always judged and underestimated, but only the students know how good our school really is. The new principal, Jerry Cook, will do great things for Wheeling!
I graduated from Wheeling High School in 2017. Overall, a great high school! I learned so much to prepare me for the future and college from Wheeling! The diverse and accepting community at Wheeling is unlike any other school. Sports team are not the best, but there is so many ways for students to get involved and make the most out of their high school experience.
