I love this school! It’s one of the top Mesa Public Schools in diversity with students from different ethnic backgrounds and religions. The teachers here are very supportive and strive to make school fun and engage the students in interacting with each other. They have amazing programs including the International Baccalaureate (IB), DECA, Model UN, and AVID, as well as many other programs. This year, they’ve managed to help their students stay on top of their grades by implementing Warrior Time (a service for kids in which those with failing grades stay in for half the lunch period to get extra help and work on raising their grades).
Something they could work on is their school spirit and student assemblies.

Westwood High School is a place for all to experience growth! They have the best CTE program which allows you to experience jobs that you would like to have in the future. (Welding, Automotive, Culinary, Sports Medicine, etc.) They even work with the EVIT program that allows you learn in the career which you want and you have the chance to transition into internships. They also have dual enrollment classes but not a lot. (they work with Mesa Community College, you'll be able to receive college credit while in high school!) The school also has an IB program that allows you to push yourself farther than you can, they face AP classes but can get into Ivy League Universities. They offer great chances to students that have dreams. It's a life-changing school. I appreciate all the chances I have been given, they really care about their students' futures. We build leadership skills and improve our character. Our motto is "Where Everybody is Somebody. MOVE UP!".
Westwood High School has been a great place for me to learn and grow. Going there has allowed me to take many great elective courses in a field of study I am interested in, engineering. Because of the many great options, I was able to start deciding what I wanted my career to be while I was in high school! This has helped me take electives that not only interest me, but also further my education in a field that i will hopefully have a job in. I have also been able to take many advanced courses that will help me as well including math and science classes.
