The school’s program is built on four pillars: Academic Excellence; Character; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Community. Faculty members model what they teach: respect and responsibility, love of teaching and joy of learning, sense of humor, open communication, and teamwork. Students are encouraged to be creative, independent, and self-disciplined. We believe in the importance of fostering resilience in our students and value perseverance, effort, and learning from our mistakes. WNS students understand the importance of community while respecting individual differences. Our goal is to instill in our students a love of learning, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of our world both in and outside the classroom.

We started WNS in Kindergarten in 2011. Now in 8th grade, we feel so blessed to have had 9 years in such an amazing school & community. Our daughter will leave WNS 100% prepared for high school and ready to take on the world. Academically she has been challenged and supported, socially she has been nurtured and encouraged and emotionally she has been strengthened and empowered. WNS' four pillars are Academic Excellence, Character, DEI and Community and these are embraced throughout, for all students, the faculty and staff and the families within the WNS community. WNS is always prepared to listen, always looking for ways to improve, always being leaders in their field, not followers. Just like they teach our kids to be. Currently in the midst of looking at high schools, we are realizing that WNS is a hard act to follow but we know we couldn't have given her a better start in life. If you are looking for an outstanding education in all aspects for your child this is the place to start!

WNS has been an amazing opportunity for me. I love attending school every single day. Affinity groups compliments the school's diversity, helping us learn to accept our gender identity, sexual orientation, race, economic status, and so much more. The theater program is amazing! The athletic couches truly care for the students. Everyone is very accepting and kind to new students and never discriminates based on parts of their identity. The teacher's make the school the best ever. They go above and beyond to make us feel special, accepted, smart, and strong. They work very hard to try and encourage students to care about their academics. They all care about our mental health and make sure to check in to see if we are struggling with the work load or certain aspects of their teaching. I love WNS.
In our search for a private school for our daughter, we were intentional in selecting schools that weren’t ethnically homogenous, but more reflective of our society. One of the reasons we chose WNS was because of the diverse student body and faculty/staff. Not only is WNS one of the most diverse independent schools around, it continuously strives to keep diversity and inclusion at the forefront. We also value how WNS focuses on developing the whole child, not just ensuring that children are scholars. This is our daughter’s first year at WNS; we love how she is progressively developing a strong sense of self, while simultaneously learning about and interacting with others who are different than her. We couldn’t have picked a better community for her and us!
