Westover is an inclusive girls independent boarding and day school for grades 9-12 in Middlebury, CT, situated in serene Western Connecticut. Just ninety minutes from New York City and Boston, Westover prides itself on being a small community of approximately 185 students, with two-thirds boarding and one-third day students. Our community attracts unique and motivated students from local Connecticut communities, across the U.S., and from around the globe.

Founded in 1909, the Westover campus is an environment that encompasses students in Westover’s intentional living and learning community. As a leader in innovative teaching for girls, Westover’s robust liber­al arts education serves as a foundation for students to discover interests through programs such as the tenured Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) program, to an extensive financial literacy education through the Invest In Girls (IIG) program.

The Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) Program was developed with the goal of encouraging young women to pursue careers in Computer Science and Engineering fields. This 4 year STEM curriculum gives students the ability to specialize as upperclassmen and includes full-credit courses that lead students from entry level to advanced electives.
