I transferred to westmoor from Terra Nova and it wasn't exactly a big change for me except that the rallies at westmoor are after school while TN's were during school and also that westmoor is a lot warmer than TN's campus! I'm not sure why but I really dislike the fact that rallies are Afterschool instead of during school and I think it is because Westmoor prioritizes the students' education here more than anything and we can't catch a break honestly. Not all the teachers are great, I've heard that there is this one teacher who is mentally and physically cruel to his students and no one is doing anything about it :(! One of the best math teachers (there're only 2 out of like 5) who is probably retiring in 2018 and not a lot of people are happy about it :(.

It's a safe environment. People were nice. We had the best school rallies in the area. I had a couple of bad teachers but, most of my teachers throughout my entire stay were really good at teaching the material. Ongoing renovation. Lenient(better) administration compared to when I was a freshman. Lacking funding on resources like markers (one of my teachers was complaining about not having any black markers because school wouldn't give them funding for it. He had to use his unused colored markers which were okay but, I just find it weird that they don't have enough funding for it?). Enough AP Classes (Calc, Chem, Physics, Bio, History, Econ/Gov, Art, Psych). Hoping they have AP Computer Science though (but they don't because school wouldn't fund it, I heard from one of my teachers). Definitely some funding issues. No football team. Only basketball team was valued. Other sports were not as recognized.
The majority of students are Asian (Filipinos predominantly), hence the lack of diversity. For academics, some teachers and exceptional and manage to teach the material in a understandable manner, while others practically throw a book at the students and expect them to self learn. We have a football field, but no football team. There have recently been numerous fights and thefts in the past year, and the cops have had to come every single time. There is also a rise in gangs and drugs. The admin say they are doing everything to resolve the conflicts, but nothing's changed. Food is bland. The bathrooms are dirty. However amidst all these negatives, one thing that is remarkable at Westmoor are the clubs. There are numerous clubs ranging from religion to business to ethnic/culture to community service and etc. The club advisors and officers truly care and put in much work to keep the club going. Overall, Westmoor isn't bad, like I wouldn't transfer out, but it's definitely not the best.
