Westminster High is an overall awesome school to be a part of. The students support each other and help one another out with personal problems, homework, and extracurriculars. We have a large variety of during-school and after-school activities and clubs; you will most likely find a club that suits your interests and/or career choice. We have excellent sports teams (competitive and non-competitive), clubs, and academics, along with well-qualified teachers to instruct the courses. Each teacher tries their hardest to help students out with comprehension of their related subjects, along with supporting the student's learning styles by offering tips and other helpful advice. We have a huge variety of classes that fit student's interests and career paths, internships, completer programs, and the Career and Tech Center next door for more hands-on experiences divided by subject. If anyone is planning on transferring to Westminster High, you will be welcomed with open arms!
My older sister went to Westminster HS and is now graduating from a prestigious College headed off to start a career in Occupational Therapy. I hope to be as successful as her. Westminster HS has prepared me to do just that! With Westminster HS and is affiliation with the Carroll County Career and Technology Center, I have received college preparedness in Engineering and will be attending the Florida Institute of Technology. Thank you to all the excellent teachers, advisors and staff. You have made my last four years a wonderful experience.
The academics and college preparation a high school should be focused on was sub-par, with classes that hardly mirror the vigor of college and a lack of skills taught to help prepare students for future academics and careers that they will be ensued upon. The administration and advising is poor, there is a visible lack of effort put forth. While their faculty is very qualified and shows true compassion and effort for their students, the overall school's performance is compromised by their misdirection towards motivating students to obtain their goals after graduation. There is a large focus on athletics, where they do have great programs, however, there is little put into other activities which hinders students from embracing all their talents. There should be a larger focus on the students as individuals rather than a graduating class as a whole to boost their ratings.
