Westminster High is great! It can improve. As a sophomore, I find that this school has problems like trash, unsanitary (locks don’t even work) restrooms, food waste, irritated staff, and wild students just like any other school. However, the majority of teachers are great and academics aren’t bad unlike the negative stigma other have of our school. Yes, there are bad students. No, we are not a dangerous or drug school. Our safety problems are equal to any other school, but security works hard to make it safe. Our school has made new changes like tutorial and the likes, and while it may be inconvinient to some, I am glad that this school is constantly striving for improvement. If you just need a good school, go here. We have good academics (Merits, OCAD, Avid), entertainment unit, band, orchestra, sports, athletics, culture, the giving farm, Upward Bound, and much more. I think you should go to another one only if it really has something special.

Westminster High School is a really nice and school! Though the diversity is very low, the cultures, sports, academics, and activities bring all the students, teachers, and parents together. As I am becoming a sophomore, I can acknowledge myself with an environment that is going to benefit me in the future. I find myself with a lot of teachers, clubs, and sports to make up why Westminster High School is a very good School. When you play in a sport, every sport will support each other giving everyone the spirit to cheer on each other. With that being said, we treat each other in sports as we are family. With clubs and activities too, the involvement of work that is done by students and teachers creates a culture where everyone can find their passion. Westminster High School creates an environment where everyone can find their passion and the motivation to work hard for it.
Westminster is the diamond in the rough of the Huntington Beach Union High School district. We often get a bad rep here, because we're a school with students from less affluent neighborhoods, and because of the gangs that used to populate Westminster in the 80s. In fact, my friend from FV told me that some tracks teams had wanted to be escorted through West like it was a war zone or something. HOWEVER, and I can not stress this enough, this is untrue! I've heard nightmares about the other schools in more affluent areas, especially problems with bullying and hard drugs (HB, OV, and Marina especially). Our students are inclusive to anyone new. Most of the teachers care about their students and their success and will do all in their power to help those who ask. The MERITS program is also great at giving opportunities to students
