Westminster high school is great academically. We have a great STEM program and agriculture program, being the only school with a farm. This school is also great in terms of size (the largest high school in the area) as well! However, the administration does not handle student issues and complains well. They need to change how the office is run because they favor students in athletics more then anyone. I was bullied by a baseball player and they said I should watch what I say.... The office ladies will also call their students liars if they believe you wrote a fake sick note, when in reality my parents wrote it. TOO strict for attendance policy and will accuse students. This is why this school is 3 stars.
Going into high school, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pretty nervous, but now I am going to become a senior. Going to Westminster High School was a good choice because here, I made some of the greatest friends as well as learned how to have fun. The staff at this school are all so supportive and nice. The students at this school mainly treat each other with respect and it is so easy to make new friends. There are so many sports that are available for everyone to tryout as well as clubs that students can join and be involved. We have rallies as well which includes all the students in the school and this gives them a chance to be able to learn about upcoming school events and show their school spirit. I had the chance to be on the cheer team and it changed my life. Being in cheer taught be how to be more confident and believe in myself more. I became more hard working and dedicated in everything I did. This school has given me a chance to have the best years in high school!
Westminster High School teachers put all of their efforts and enthusiasm in teaching. I have experienced seeing that they are really patient in helping students out with difficulty.
This school celebrate so many cultural days in different countries such as Tet ( a Vietnamese new year day), Day of the Dead. All of these festivals are made by students, staff, and teachers. I had a lot of fun experiences
One more thing I love about this school is the Link Crew program. Link Crew is my school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. It helps my first year in the school so much easier even though I was in grade 11th, because I just moved to America at that time.
However, I really don't like about the restroom on campus. It's always dirty and messy because of student’s irresponsible. However, the school is trying different methods to reduce that problem, so it’s not a big deal anymore.
