As a freshmen I never really thought what a big of an impact High School could be for me. When I first initiated in 9 grade everything seemed pretty calmed until I realized I was just three years away from taking the big step and going to college.
Westland Hialeah Senior High School resulted to be an amazing place, the place where I found myself. Over the years our school has been vigorously working on improving the student life, I could say we are all part of a big family.
Westland also counts with a wonderful staff, it goes from teachers up to the security workers, they all conform an amazing group of mentors that guide students day by day.
I am currently cursing my last year of school as a senior. This has been a long journey but I am about to make it thanks to all the help I have received throughout the years, thanks to my persistent teachers, thanks to my supportive counselors, thanks to all the friendship high school has helped me built. I am proud being a wildcat.

To start off, I would like to point out this school had its ups and downs/ pros and cons. Speaking of the cons, the main issue I encountered at this school was the administration. Most of them barely helped you, would ignore you and your issue and at times they were downright disrespectful. They are probably one of my main sources of stress throughout my four years there. Next, when it comes to pros, I can truly say the school was always kept very clean, decorated and there were some good teachers. The only thing keeping me up was my peers. Approaching my senior year, things just started to change for the worse and absurd in that school and sadly, due to Covid-19, my senior year was cut short. Unfortunately, I had no prom, gradbash, or graduation to at least say the school "redeemed" itself.
I would like to see some better changes for the system overall, but I love the school, it has many activities, school spirit, amazing teachers and best education programs. This school has achieved so much in so little time and believe that it has improved so much. I like everything about it. However, one change I would like to see would be to have better food in the cafeteria. Also, it has a lot of diversity and people with different backgrounds. During the quarantine, I am missing the school a lot because when I go there it feels like a family. All teachers are very nice except some of them , but you know no school is perfect. There are some teachers that are the best ones in the world. They acre for your learning and are not there for their paycheck. Overall it is a great school and I never regret my decision of changing to this school. Their programs are just the best and it is worth it. Very good people and staff. I would say that this is my dream high-school.
