I really enjoy being a student at Westfield High School. I think there is a great learning atmosphere. All of my teachers are great! The only aspect that is not very good is the resources. In most of the surrounding districts all of the students have laptops or tablets. At Westfield High School we has "wifi" which was supposed to be for a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), but the wifi never works. We also don't have many laptop carts or computer labs that consistently work with no problems. In class when I have to do something online I often spend 10-20 minutes just trying to login or get my computer to turn on.

I very much enjoyed my time at WHS, but I acknowledge that the school did not have the greatest resources to prepare me for the world beyond. One area that needs the most improvement is the sciences. The labs are in need of renovation, and science fair is required for honors and AP students, but students do not receive a lot of direction or advising. One highlight of WHS is the extracurricular activities. I found strong communities among many of them, and was able to explore my passions and develop leadership qualities.
My experience at Westfield High School is not unique. The activities I have become involved in through discovering multiple programs have made me a well rounded individual. On the other hand, Westfield High School is immensley rundown. The faculty don't seem to have the student bodies' best interests in mind. If you were to go to the bathroom, for instance, it is filthy. The stalls don't lock, the sinks rarely function, and there is no soap available. Safety is also poor, the administration would rather a fight take course, than intervene. The oldest and most common issue is the heat, due to the fact that the school is not air conditioned. The only areas that are lucky enough to have air-conditioning are the administration main office. Therefore, students attempt to have classes on a cooler lower floor.
