So many wonderful things about WRA! Passionate faculty who clearly love their subjects (walk the halls of the science building and it's lined with journals and reading material), generous staff who build relationships with the kids and a rigorous curriculum. My son says "at WRA, they work hard and they play hard". I am impressed with how the faculty takes every student and works to grow them as learners. For example, my daughter did so well her first semester, her adviser called a meeting of her faculty to see how they could continue to challenge her. That really impressed me!
Review Western Reserve Academy
Excellent academics in a very supportive environment. The teachers are pushing my daughter in all aspects. Her academics were strong when she started and she has had to rise to meet the challenge, but the teachers are their to assist and help at every step. Athletically, she has grown enormously and has had an incredible experience! Socially, she has matured and has friends from around the US. The food is great! She never eats at home anymore. The parent community is very inclusive!
Western Reserve Academy provides a challenging environment academically. The athletic teams are not very good, probably due to size. The athletic department should take this into consideration and play against schools similar in size. It is embarrassing we play huge schools such as Jackson or even Hudson. My main complaint is THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION. Sure, we get weekly emails that are largely cut and pasted from the week before. WRA decided to DROP AP classes starting 2017. I am livid. They may not care but colleges very much care! There has been NO COMMUNICATION to parents from academic office about this change. Considering the cost this should be a huge discussion point for parents when deciding where to send their child. I am so happy my second child had no desire to attend. SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO ELSEWHERE!
