As a student, I’ve had so many great experiences especially coming from a school that didn’t really care what happened to the students while on campus. For me the best parts are just being there and knowing that I am surrounded by people who care about me and my future! Now my worst experiences are with some of the teachers because they are either uncooperative with students that they don’t like. In my past 2 years of being at the school, I’ve had two teachers who don’t care about students grades especially the ones who don’t kiss up to them and I’ve also had one teacher who finds comedy in throwing markers at students when they don’t give her the answers she wants. Personally and luckily, I have only had to deal with the two teachers who don’t care too much about putting grades at all! But otherwise, I love being here and I wouldn’t have changed my mind about attending this school no matter what!
4 for academics/STEM: I feel math classes weren't taught well in HS, so instead YouTube is my teacher.
2 for Facilities: this school doesn't have an MPR or library! I'm a VERY poor student in Hemet (city library has bad hours+gas prices) so trips to the library aren't often For being such a high-ranked school, it should have one. As for an MPR, sitting on concrete outside for some events isn't fun.
Clubs/Art: most clubs are pretty STEMmy, and a lot of the creative ones do fizzle out. Art club is very small, so is band unfortunately. I would like to see creative clubs receive more support here.
Safety: I'm an extreme case, but I got bullied very badly here for about half a year. Aside from that, I and friends heard rude comments about gender, socioeconomic class, and race a lot. Many people are kind, though.
Overall: 2.5. I think a school with more resources would be better for me, since I can't afford many. Many kind teachers. Needs more arts! I didn't feel too safe here.

The academic opportunities are excellent at WCA. You will be taking AP classes which other schools in the area simply don't offer. Students are also allowed to take college classes, which the credits can be immensely helpful for their college careers, whether they realize it or not. You do need to have a consistent work effort to see success in your classes, which I appreciated. It prepares you for college incredibly early that it makes college seem like nothing scary.
However, your culture and social life hinges essentially on circumstance. While I met and made a lot of great connections here, I can't say that was due to anything but luck. Especially since it is a smaller school, connections will be a lot more interwoven, while possibly feeling isolating if no one clicks with you. I have also heard complaints on different student's experiences with reporting issues with staff, so keep that in mind. While my experience here was great, it is not guaranteed to have that.
