It is an excellent school! There’s great staff that’s always willing to help improve our learning environment and never seems to complain. The school itself is always kept clean by the custodians, especially Mr. Brown. WBHS wouldn’t be the same without him, that’s for sure. He helps keep students in line for headphones and hoods and hats, but also helps a smile grow on a students face with his constant upbeat attitude and never-ending school spirit. Of all of the Chesapeake Public Schools, I’m glad I am graduating from this one.

WBHS is an... interesting school. The teachers here are pretty good; however, the school environment, admin, and students aren’t really that great. For starters, this school completely disregards their academic programs specifically STEM in favour of athletics. This school also discourages going to 4 year college or university and instead tries to force kids into the local community college. They treat going to a 4 year college as something that is impossible to do and rarely talk about college scholarship opportunities. The admin at this school are okay. The main issue with admin is that they only listen to parents complaints even when faculty or student complaints are about valid issues. The students at this school have many behaviour issues especially in relation is disruptiveness and fighting. This school definitely has an issue with fighting and when a fight breaks out its typically very violent. Overall, WBHS really isn’t that great of a school.
I graduated from Western Branch Highschool in 2019. Western Branch Highschool is quite an above average school. There is a great after school program to help students with any core subject and transportation to take those students home. There are many clubs at Western Branch Highschool; however, those club are slowing dying from lack of interest from students. The teachers at Western Branch Highschool will definitely do their best to help students from failing.
