Western Boone Junior/Senior High School Reviews
Rating 4.02 out of 5 126 reviews
The school was average. They did offer dual credit courses but only 3 at the time of attendance. It is made up of 5 extremely small towns so there graduating classes were very small, and there is next to no diversity. Some teacher were fantastic, some were apathetic or unprofessional. My biggest problem with this school is its inability to provide for children with special needs and learning help.
It is overall a pretty average public school. Some teachers are great, some aren't so great. But most of all I have a problem with the mental health of the students here. We technically have a committee for mental health but the school does almost nothing to help or comfort the students in my opinion. There is one specific counselor that one of my peers have gone to and if anything, he made the student feel worse about their situation.
Western Boone is a very small, but homey school. It is full of amazing and unique people. Being such a small school, students really connect to students and can often participate in one-on-one teaching and training. Western Boone also offers a good range of sports including football, basketball, baseball, tennis, cross country, track and field, golf, soccer, and wrestling, for boys, and basketball, softball, tennis, soccer, track and field, cross country, cheerleading, and volleyball for girls. At WEBO, nearly everybody knows everybody so it is really just one big family.
