Westchester Academy for International Studies is in my opinion one of the best schools.Westchester has many good things especially their academic system. Westchester has advanced placement classes and an IB program which helps and benefits the students in many ways. The teachers at Westchester make learning interesting, encouraging, and enthusiastic. As students we feel comfortable to interact in class and ask questions. We also feel comfortable to tell our teachers if we are having any problems. Many students like to join sports unfortunately we do not have sports. We do however have physical education classes and we are encouraged to exercise just like we are encouraged to play sports for the school we are zoned to. These are some of the reasons that make Westchester one of the best schools in my opinion.

I can honestly say that I would not have gotten as far as I have without the sustained support from the teachers and staff at WAIS. They hands down, in every way, go above and beyond for their students. Looking back at my time there, the entire curriculum was designed to teach us incomparable life skills. We were pushed to think critically of the world and what we were learning, our teachers expected the best of us until we expected the best of ourselves, we were encourage to participate in team-centered activities and develop leadership skills through ample extracurricular opportunities. Most of all though, the teachers cared about who we were as people and created an inclusive classroom space in which they made sure that every student received the help they needed.
WESTCHESTER! Is a place you can call home, a place that people feel welcomed and can excel academically. This is a home for the students looking to greater their education and taking chances. We are a choice school and we have the option to be part of the IB program. WAIS is a very academically challenging campus and we are always striving to be the best we can be. Administration is great. And this school has so much history. The tall and stately arches will always be my home!
