Great school with very good teachers. Has excellent Math and English faculty. Great school for college hopefuls! West Valley HS has a running start opportunity allowing juniors and seniors to take courses at community college or a University for dual credit that can be used towards their high school graduation requirements and college credit. Students can even graduate with a high school diploma and an associate of art college degree, something that I will be doing soon! This high school has a lot of sports opportunities and is pretty competitive. Clubs and activities are many. There are many ways to get involved at WVHS with a lot of extracurricular opportunities to beef up those college applications! For seniors like me, there are many college support opportunities. Help for college applications and scholarships are offered frequently during the fall of senior year.
West Valley high school in Yakima WA is a really fun place to be, most of the teachers are super flexible with assignments and understand how sometimes homework can’t get done at home. I’ve been in West Valley since 4th grade and besides the fact that it’s school, it’s a great place to be. The environment is very welcoming and learning on campus is fun and easy, but the subject could be difficult. My geometry teacher made the class i struggled the worse in to the one that i excelled at.
West Valley High School is an amazing school. The teachers and staff care deeply for their students, many putting in hundreds of hours of overtime to help them succeed, and they want to be involved with their students as much as they can. The staff and student body have worked together to improve the school's environment so that every student has the chance to feel safe and welcome, whether it is physically through protection against shootings or mentally by making every student feel appreciated. And while there may be some problem areas, the overall positive atmosphere of the school largely outweighs any cons.
