I graduated from West in 2014. I loved the environment of West High. The teachers were engaged, the students were motivated and success was tradition. West High prepared me well for college as far as atmosphere, and academics. Highly recommended. Go Torjans!
Review West Senior High School
West offers a lot of opportunities for high school students to gain a head start for college! There are many clubs that offer any type of student to get involved. The school excels at sports and in academics and is full of diverse, talented people. The staff is nice, and the campus is large and beautiful. West is largely recognized by colleges and is one of the top high schools in Iowa.
My school is very dedicated to helping every student whether you have a 4.0 or a 2.0 you can always ask for help! They are always listening to the students and what they have to say. For example we used to not have a Grammar course because many people didn't see why we would need it and after a discussion with students they spoke with officials and eventually they created a Grammar course for the students to enroll in. All clubs at our school are student run and have such a great variety there is almost a club for anything you can imagine. We have a Business Professionals of America club (I am involved with), Jump rope club, Poetry club, Philosophy club, Zombie club, 1440 (a volunteer club), Best Buddies (special needs clubs) and so many others.
