This school is like most schools. It has goods and bads about itself. This school in particular is half and half. The academics are awesome, so many classes to choose from and learn new ideas. It’s diversity could be improved(mainly white students, rarely LGBTQ+ or other races). The teachers are average because of the differences in teachers. Not all teachers at that school put lots of effort into their classes. This school does indeed prepare you for college as well as provides lots of clubs and activities to do after school. The classes for sports, music, math, science, etc. are all wonderful and help prepare you to do what you want in the future. Finally, the facilities. These are always fun in high schools because you’ll never expect what will happen in there. It’ll be from someone vaping/skipping class to someone cutting the locks off the bathroom stalls. Yes, cutting the locks. Other than that, it’s pretty clean and spacious in there.
Overall, good academics and sports. Some teachers care about their jobs, some don’t. There’s a lot of opportunities to get involved with the school and community!
West Salem High School is a community. Yes it’s a high school and there are its ups and down but over all west has been amazing! The amount of friends that I have made by joining different clubs and activities is just astonishing! The teachers were and still are a big part of my education. There is honestly not a teacher at west that I don’t feel comfortable talking to after school about making up an assignment or asking for help! One of my favorite parts about west is being our student section for football, volleyball and basketball games. I don’t know what about it is so captivating, but sometimes it’s all I look forward too on Friday’s.
