West Ranch is an excellent high school! There are so many interesting teachers and students that create a safe and exciting learning experience. Most of the teachers I have had have been extremely knowledgeable in the subjects they taught, as well as passionate and enthusiastic to share their knowledge. They are always willing to take the extra time to help students, even outside of scheduled class time. In addition to academic classes, there are plenty of super fun electives which I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in. West Ranch has such an amazing campus that allows for fun subjects such as art, culinary, sports, music, and more. These things allow students to bond with one another through common interests. They also foster practical skills that can be used for life after school. I am so thankful that I have had the privilege of attending West Ranch High School and experiencing such an exceptional and supportive community of teachers and students.
From day one at West Ranch High School I have felt part of something bigger. Here I have been able to be surrounded by peers who all want to do their best. The staff and endless resources provided open up endless possibilities that have encouraged me to pursue my goals no matter how big. It is all in your mindset and West Ranch supports its student body with resources for success. I have been able to explore my interests with the wide variety of AP classes and unique student-run clubs. In my academic endeavors, I have found community with people who share my interests.
Success is also reflected in West Ranch’s sports teams with our nationally ranked basketball team among other high-performing sports available. Leaving game after game with winning is a thrill that I have definitely enjoyed in the student section with my friends.
I am incredibly grateful for the experiences that West Ranch has enriched me with.

Overall, I think that West Ranch is a good school. There have been many ups and downs however. I think that there just isn't enough diversity. With over half of the school's demographic consisting of white students, there's often cliques separated by race. On the flip side, the staff and faculty are extremely nice, with some exceptions of course, but I do feel welcomed by all of the teachers at West Ranch. If there was one thing I could change, I would change the curriculum that some teachers provide. Some teachers don't assign any real homework to their students leaving them with no progress in their learning by the end of the year. I've been fairly unlucky with these types of teachers as I had a few of them over my past few years as a freshman and sophomore. If West Ranch could better evaluate their teachers than that would be much more beneficial to the students and their learning.
