It was a great experience overall! Loved my teachers and classes so much. Made meaningful connections with other students. The only thing I wish I had there was a better academic counselor. There could've been more guidance on schools and finding scholarships that fit my major-Theatre Acting- but he seemed to only have thoughts on non-theatre schools. Again, I loved everything about the school and glad renovations are up and running for the next round of students but I wish there was a little more work on the counselor side of things.
It’s a pretty overpopulated school which means as a student, you won’t get that undivided attention needed to thrive from faculty unless you put yourself out there and ask for help. Even then, there’s just too many students in the school to focus on. However, I have had some amazing and kind hearted teachers that I will never forget!
Our art department is fantastic and many of the teachers in the department really care about the students.

My view of West Potomac has remained stagnant over the past 4 years: full of opportunity yet lacking in likability. There is so much here; An advanced STEM program kitted with all the unique tools one would need to build a robot or drone or rocket, a enormous building dedicated to arts and music, classes that teach nursing, firefighting, dentistry, and more, plus, a multi-level world language department. The student population is incredibly diverse and the college resource center prepares students for what lies ahead of them. However, despite the exciting opportunities that students can take advantage of, the bad food, constant construction, snake infestation, no outdoors policy, and somewhat aggressive administrators drag student life down and can be demoralizing. Overall, the opportunities presented to the students outweigh the less than appealing student life.
