I have enjoyed the past four years as a student at West Muskingum High School. The teachers and faculty were very helpful. They always enjoyed connecting with the students. I had a variety of classes I was able to choose from to assist in preparing me for higher education. Our student body also had a TON of school spirit! West Muskingum utilized block scheduling for the academic semesters forcing an entire year of content to be taught in half the time. I would have preferred a different way of scheduling classes.

Its a very well rounded public school but not much to set it apart from any other public school. It offers a plenty of clubs to join from ski club to chess club. It also offers many of the sports that people love like football, basketball, soccer, golf, volleyball. The staff is very friendly and many of them teach in a clear, wellspoken manner. Almost all the coaches are unanimously loved and care about their athletes. It has a professional athletic trainer who cares about her athletes as well. It also offers all electives and general courses any high school student could ask for.
West muskingum was a great school, even though they get a bad rep. There were not a lot of problems going to school there. Everyone got along with everybody for the most part. Some things that I would like to see change is more hands on learning to bring out the children’s creative side. You can’t expect every child to learn the same or see the ideas your teaching the same way. It’s great to see how kids see the world and for them to be able to express themselves in that way could be life changing for the upcoming generation.
