I went to West Linn High School for all four years, and I enjoyed it most of the time (as much as a high schooler can actually enjoy school). The staff at this school is amazing; they just want to see you learn and grow! I have met so many amazing teachers who have helped shape me into who I am now. Something I dislike about WLHS, however, is the "over achiever" environment it has. Students often feel pressured into taking AP courses or playing sports, as if those things are measures of one's success and one's self worth.
West Linn was a great place to go to school. The teachers and staff at the school are outstanding. I am a proud student. I grew up in the area and have been a part of the culture for my whole life. The schools focus on academics and sports are what make it one of the top schools in Oregon. I found my best friends at West Linn High School. I acquired relationships at that school that I will never forget. I will forever appreciate the schools ability to be accepting of all people. I felt supported and loved by many of the staff and as a recent graduate of the school I am now proud to call those staff members my friends. Thanks West Linn. Go lions!
Filled with both welcoming staff and faculty, you don't feel very uneasy. Students are usually nice. The curriculum is top-notch, and the food is quality. The scheduling system is easy to understand and the classes easy to find. The environment is welcoming to all, and the school is very accepting of diversity. The only critical thing is the school does turn a blind eye to bullying, (on the rare circumstances that bullying occurs) which can create a slight divide between teachers and students. But what the staff lacks in preventing, they make up for in teaching. They give everyone an equal opportunity to learn, with little favoritism or bias. I would recommend West Linn High to parents and their children.
