My experience at West Lauderdale was enriching, but it just didn't prepare me for college as much as I would have wanted. I was an AP student and tried really hard and did well in school with a 4.0 GPA and good ACT score. Preparedness for college life, however, wasn't pressed as hard as maybe it should have been. I sincerely hope they attempt to change this small detail as it pertains to the next four years of students lives. Being from a small town in Mississippi with not as much funding as other bigger schools didn't help in this manner either.
I have grown to love it these past years and the faculty treats it’s student body as a family. The teachers were able to prepare me for life after school and for further education as well. I know that once I leave after graduation I will miss the community and familiarity greatly.
I think the school is okay but personally I have endured homophobia at this school. And I have seen it too
West Lauderdale is not the biggest school. However, that is not a reason as to why we do not have many activities. Right now, because of Covid-19, it is understandable why there are not many activities. However, before the virus, there were not near as many activities as other schools have. We have one dance, which is prom. We have homecoming, but no homecoming dance. Another thing with this school is the teachers. Most of the teachers are amazing people, but their teaching is inadequate. Some teachers do not understand that just because they understand their lesson, does not mean that the students automatically understand.
I attended WLHS and took honors classes. The honors classes really push you and can be very difficult. I found many of them harder than college classes. I think this was a good thing and prepared me for college. My least favorite thing about the school was the students. Very clique and horrible to people who are different, and a bullying problem.
I enjoyed the diversity of the school but it lacks school pride! Facilities are run down and not updated at all, no stem programs!
I loved the curriculum. It was very challenging. The teachers pushed you to be your best. I wish the students were more involved with each other. I wish there were more ways for them to connect with each other.
I came to West Lauderdale when I was in third grade and would not have it any other way. I have had an amazing experience at West Lauderdale. The teachers do everything in their power to help you down the road to higher education.
I would like to see that rules are followed for every student and there is no favoritism to certain students. Also more sports added.
To offer more advanced placement classes and AP classes. The school also needs to offer the girl's soccer team a place to practice and play soccer. The veteran teachers are very good but they have not been able to replace the quality teachers that are retiring.
My experience at West Lauderdale High School was great. I enjoyed every year of my high school career. The administration and teachers there are great and really want to see you succeed in life. The overall environment at the school is also very good everyone is so nice and it’s a clean school. West Lauderdale High School was a great experience!
West is Best! Great sports teams and many different clubs and activities to be a apart of. The band is great!
West Lauderdale is an amazing school and the staff truly cares about their students. The best education possible is given here and our teachers will push you to do your hardest in school. I have never met one unfriendly staff member here at West Lauderdale. They prepare you to know what college is like so that way you have no surprises once you get there. We have the greatest clubs around from religious to health related. Which gives every student a chance to be involved in something there and not feel left out.
I love West Lauderdale High School but there are limited clubs and organizations. The teachers are very good and there is a strong bond between the students, almost everyone knows everyone. The school is very safe as well.
West Lauderdale is a very close school. Most parents went to school there and we all grew up together. Everybody knows everybody
West Lauderdale is a great high school. It performs at its best and has some of the best faculty. The students work hard for their grades and the sports are great. Overall, West Lauderdale is the place to be.
My overall experience at West Lauderdale was great! Everyone that I graduated with was very close to one another considering the fact that we all grew up together. We stayed in school together our entire grade school career with the exception of a few who came and went. The teachers were wonderful, friendly, and always there for me when I needed them wether it was for something personal or I just needed a little extra help understanding the lesson better.
