This school is amazing! The music program is excellent and always has great representation in state competitions and events. The honors programs are rigorous and fast-paced. The students are very kind and caring, although it is very competitive.

Widely recognized as the best ranking school district in Indiana, West Lafayette selectively prepares its students for a college education. To call it challenging would be a huge understatement. Although this school excels in teaching the skills of college readiness, throughout the school system
the culture is poor and the teachers are completely ineffective in their style and understanding.

It is a fact in this school system, there is a crippling African American population at only 3%. If these students' test scores did not suffice they usually did not stay the academic year, due to the staff's ambivalence. Race not being the only issue, the overall culture is exclusive. If one is not already educated, rich, and/or athletic, he or she is unanimously considered an outcast. Due to social class or skin color, these scholars stick to their kind or stand alone. Suffering from subconscious segregation, this school still has a long way to go.
I’ve had an good overall experience with West Lafayette Jr/Sr High School. The classes are very challenging, but they are also very helpful for college. The teachers are all very kind and always willing to help. One of my favorite things about this school is the diversity. You will find people from all over the world who come here to learn. It’s a great atmosphere with many opportunities to push yourself. The only thing I would change is the food quality and the level of stress. The food is always the same every week, so it gets tiring. The amount of stress that students have needs to be addressed more often here as well. Students have so much pressure to do well that it can be overwhelming. But overall, it’s a great school in Indiana to be a part of.
