West Highland Christian Academy Reviews

My son and daughters attended West Highland Christian Academy after being Homeschooled for several years. It was a wonderful transition from homeschool to the classroom. West Highland Christian Academy helped prepared my children for college in character, biblical principles, and academics. All of my children received academic scholarships to well-known universities. I hoped to be able to provide my grandkids with the same quality of education as my children received at West Highland Christian Academy..
There aren't really any clubs at this school. I formed a book club with a teacher and some friends, but it wasn't "recognized by the school" or anything like that. There are extracurricular classes (7th hour), some are consistent, others fluctuate. Ones in the past include: Praise band, drama, art, yearbook, P.E., home economics, spiritual formation, and sewing. As for sports, basketball (male and female) and soccer (co-ed) are usually consistent, but teams are almost always small because the student body is small. Sometimes there is a girl's volleyball team, but they don't always get enough players.
Almost all of my teachers have been wonderful. All have been approachable and cared about the students, but I have had a couple teachers that were not very good at teaching or had a lot of trouble controlling the classroom. Most teachers are knowledgeable and are good at communicating with students and parents. It is impossible to be completely unbiased when grading, but all of the teachers strive to be consistent and base students' grades on their work not the teacher's opinion of a student. My teachers were always willing to help, and the majority would work hard to find different ways of reaching students and getting them to understand concepts.
