It's a pretty good school! I've gone here for all 4 years, as have all my other siblings, and it's been a pretty good time. Our sports teams are pretty average, but when we're good, everyone is really supportive! People aren't very involved in stuff at West. Usually whatever people do freshman year is what the end up doing the rest of their time at West, but people really enjoy what they do and participate from the heart. The teachers are really cool and helpful, though sometimes they can be mean or really strict, but students tend to stick together and everyone is nice and cool once you get to know them. Our academics are really good, as we have AP, IB, and college courses easily available for students, and the teachers and administrators are nice and eager to help people. It's a really good place once you get involved. I wish the stigma around our school wasn't so negative- it's really a good place to be!

I graduated from West in 2019. Through all of my years at West High, I thoroughly enjoyed the school and was offered help whenever necessary. There were so many opportunities to get involved and the teachers were always willing to form strong connections to their students. I never once had a teacher who didn't want me to succeed. That being said, sometimes I felt as though the administration would handle issues within the school in a questionable way. The school was rich with diversity and had a booming population that had great school spirit. If you get involved in at least one of the numerous activities West has to offer, you will absolutely enjoy your time there and gain skills which will last a lifetime.
West High School was scary when I first entered the school and all types of people. I was new to the school, and as a new student, I fear the students and teachers because I was just simple afraid. From grade 10 through grade 12, I grew out of my shell, had more confident in myself, and explored around the choices I could grasp. I liked that there was students and teachers of different ethnicity, and this really shows diversity that the school has.
