West truly is the best! Their academic programs are very good and theirs is a lot of variety. The school is diverse which exposes students to many different cultures and opinions. That helps students find their true self while being open to all ideas, voices and cultures. Couldn’t think of a better place to get my high school education from.

West is very diverse and has lots of academic and extracurricular opportunities. We have amazing sports, especially cross country, amazing arts, especially the choir programs, and amazing clubs, especially Get it Done Club. However, West is a bit cliquey and although it is diverse it is pretty segregated. There are a lot of awesome classes to take, like african american experience, gender studies, math physics, drawing and design, social dance, and more. The facilities are not great and we do not have a football field. The bathrooms are not the best. However, things are generally getting better and I think it is pretty good for a public high school.
Overall the experience there was great. There are many different orgs and clubs that allow for student involvement. Although the school can be clicky, if you make effort to put yourself in different spaces you can connect with diverse body of people. The school is pretty strong West kids are typically pretty proud of the school spirit. The football team isn't the best, but the students have the heart. West certianly is an artsy school. They pride themselves on Fine Arts week and the wide array of art and theatre classes. The majority of the teachers are awesome and genuinely care about their students. My biggest regret as an alum is not taking more opportunities to explore the arts.
