West Florida High School of Advanced Technology Reviews
Rating 3.93 out of 5 349 reviews
The best part about attending West Florida High School of advanced technology was the amazing learning experience. This school has numerous career based academies. For example, Engineering, Pre-nursing, Multimedia, Telecommunications, Criminal Justice, and many more. These academies provide many students with knowledge and certifications that can be applied to many jobs in the work force. Another great thing about West Florida High School are the resources. The school provides you with many resources that involve college preparations and mental health. Something that I’m not as in favor of is the lack of parent involvement. As a student with a very enthusiastic and engaged mom, there were not many opportunities for parent involved in the school. Considering everything, West Florida High School of Advanced Technology has taught me many things, and provided me with a memorable high school experience.
West Florida High School provides all kinds of opportunities for students! The wall to wall career based academies open an outlet to "real word" learning and useful information for the future. Overall, the school is well organized and I appreciate the dedication towards a better set of skills for the future.
The teachers at West Florida care about the education they are providing the students and that is important. Students can come to teachers about any concerns and chances are that the teacher will help as much as they can. The high school career of a West Florida student prepares one for higher education, whether it is to go on to college or into a trade school. In the junior year, all students are required to do a capstone project on a topic of importance to them that falls under their career academy. Doing this project gives insight into the same sort of project that college juniors do on a bigger scale. Regarding career academies, students get the chance to preference the ones that interest them. If selected for the class, the student will then study that field for their 4-year high school career, unless transferred to a different class.
