Overall, high school was awesome. Met amazing friends, teachers, and felt apart of something life changing. I thankfully found my muse, and my hobbies. The rallys are the best and I love everything about our music program. The opportunities given here is just endless and definitely worth the time. I have made many different families in the extra curriculars that I've been apart of, and the teachers have prepared me significantly for college. By taking some AP classes, which are managable with being an involved bulldog!

After being a student who had moved from school to school over the years, for the first time I can call a school my second home and mean it. My teachers here at West Covina have been welcoming since day one by engaging in having trusting and respectable relationships. The student body's expression of school spirit is abundant across campus creating a sense of community which overall improves the experience of being a bulldog. The administration's effort to create a familylike persona is evident in and outside of the classroom, encouraging a safe and caring environment. Students have the oppurtunity to be involved in any aspect that pertains to their interests in which during those extra hours spent after school comes the second-home perspective by creating new friendships-extending the amount of family members.
Out of the four years I was there, every class I took had teachers that tried to get you "college ready" but out of all of them the only ones I feel were actually successful were my English ones. Many others were set up in a way that was not hands on and encouraging with students. I hope that the teachers learn better skills to get students more involved and interested in the stuff they are learning. There were many times I was sitting there in class with basically half of the students were sitting there bored to death questioning and wondering if they would ever even need this information later in life because they could not make the real world connections. That I felt was the biggest concern. Many teachers needed to show students how what they are learning is important and does matter. They need to be more hands on and establish real connections with their students. The whole I'm just gonna throw all this stuff and hope something sticks in their heads is not going to work.
