West Carroll High School Reviews
Rating 3.02 out of 5 44 reviews
What I liked about West Carroll is that they begin to prepare students for college as they begin their freshman year. Teachers show what college tests, note taking, homework, etc. will be like and will give tips to prepare the students. Teachers are also willing to help as much as they can in class, and even outside of class. An improvement that could be made in school would be to give more options for classes. We have a band, drama, choir, and Spanish class, but students would like there to be more opportunities for fun classes.
The only good experience I am having so far is the small amount of good teachers. This school has a few very nice and understanding teachers while there are some...pushy teachers. I would include the friends I have here but that comes with every school. I feel that the stuff they teach us is very, VERY hit or miss meaning that it can range from useful stuff to bare minium of basic. The food is surprising a bit above average but there's some ones that make you gag from the thought of it or a simple eyeroll. But all and all as a student from West Carroll Middle School and 3/4ths of the way done with High School this school is just another below average experiance. Nothing unique or fun about it just another thing you got to get through in life. Don't let the other reviews fool you there is nothing fun about this school since it becomes tedious after Freshman year. One more thing, the review from 2013 giving the school a one star rating is correct. Social life can make or break you here.
I have had a good experience with this school personally. The only thing about this school district is that it's such a small district that we don't have a lot of courses and we lose staff pretty quick. I am in my senior year and at the start of this year, we lost over 10 staff members, which restricted even more courses and learning opportunities.
