West Boylston Middle High School is very small school, and this can either work to a student's advantage or disadvantage. Personally, I found the small school very helpful. I was able to grow not only as a student but as a person. I made meaningful connections with the people in the school, whether it be my best friends or academic mentors. The only thing I wish my school improved upon was better funding for the arts. There is so much funding that goes in to the sports, and there is not as much focus on our arts programs. I wish our school was able to update and improve our auditorium, and perhaps make spaces for performers, like dressing rooms and more practice rooms.
I like that my school was personal. The teachers knew me and had time to help me when I needed it. I liked that you knew everyone that was going there. What I would like to see changed is better money management. Money was spent on furniture, 3d printers and a flat screen to tell us the weather. I think the money should have been spent on new computers, books, desks, the performing arts group or something that would contribute more to our education and experience.
West Boylston High School has created an environment that encouraged me to try new opportunities. I had the chance to explore different skills and find my passion. It was a very comfortable place for me to open up, thanks to the great staff members that have helped guide me.
