This school provided all the resources needed to succeed. I came in the school as a freshman, no clue or plan on what I wanted to do for a career. West Aurora had plenty of clubs and organizations that took time of their day to come and speak to the freshmen to help them think of what they could possibly be interested in. Thanks to them, I found a club that focuses in human sciences. I'm currently in college looking to pursue a degree in Biology with a concentration in Physical therapy. I will always be thankful for what they did. The schools atmosphere could use some working on. These clubs and organizations are highly praised for what they can shape students into, but they also turned into cliques and wouldn't interact with one another. Other then that, I could say West (Aurora) is best!

West High is extremely diverse, with tons of opportunities to meet people from different walks of life. There's a lot of school spirit and activities like homecoming week dress up days. As an AP student, I can personally attest to their high quality classes in advanced topics. However, if you are not in the "advanced" track, class quality drops sharply. It's extremely hard to learn well in the lowest class track, and even harder to jump to a higher level class. Advisors frequently put you into classes based on their own opinions of you, and not based on your actual wants/requests. There can be fights semi-regularly and there is actual gang activity (although the school tries very hard to suppress it). Overall, it's not an amazing school, but it is probably the best one in the area. Better than East.
Blackhawks are Blackhawks for life! I love West Aurora! I have never had a teacher I didn't like at West. Football games are so fun and there are so many things to do at West. With thousands of students, there are always new people to meet and the student body is very diverse.
