I enjoy being a student at WHS, especially being in the AP classes. The teachers who teach AP classes have all be the most awesome teachers I've ever had! The sports environment has always been awesome, and other sports are supportive of each other. The coaches are usually teachers as well, so there are always friendly faces all around the high school. We have awesome counselors who support each and every student, and good programs and resources to help people out with creating a path for college or just after high school.
Wenatchee is a very inclusive school. There are many clubs and activities. The food is typical school food. The bathrooms are regularly shut down due to student misbehavior, leaving each sex with one bathroom. A common trend between classes, clubs, and the school is lack of communication. Many events are not advertised until a few days before. There are COVID guidelines in place but many students and teachers don't follow them, especially at school events taking place outside of school hours and/or location. The in-person classes here are much better than the online classes from the Wenatchee Internet Academy. WHS is also working on expanding their CTE classes to include more opportunities for students to find career paths before college. Overall Wenatchee High School is a good school.
Wenatchee High School hosts amazing teachers and staff who have always been there to help me when I needed it! Everyone is kind and always willing to help, and I've been able to take classes that I'm interested in enrolling in, like Geology, Zoology, and Marine Biology, among others. College prep is another big thing that this high school is excellent on. The staff working with the SOAR program have been wonderful to work with, and I've learned and decided my next step after graduation because of it. One thing Wenatchee High can do better on is bathroom facilities, as most of the sinks don't work and everything is outdated and 30 years old. Other than that, this school is awesome and I'm grateful I got to attend!
