One of my favorite things about Waynflete is there afterschool enrichment program. There is such a wide array of different activities that is offered to the students. The students can choose from karate, drama, dance, and much more. My daughter did dance on Monday afternoons. She would always leave her extended day of dance smiling, singing, and dancing. As a parent that was very refreshing to see after she has had such a long day. I would highly recommend to anyone considering Waynflete to make sure they inquire about the enrichment program, it is the best!

Waynflete does middle school right. They know how to keep kids/teens busy and balanced with an incredible mix of academics, arts, athletics, and other activities. Teachers and faculty all care about the kids who go there, and want to give them a gifted education instead of being lost in the shuffle. Communication is outstanding compared to our other school experience. The best thing about Waynflete—especially for middle schoolers—is the focus on getting kids/teens to have the confidence and ability to manage their own choices and responsibilities. Executive planning is a learned skill, and Waynflete succeeds in teaching kids that for school and it extends to other parts of teen’s lives. It’s been an incredible experience!
We moved from France to Portland for Waynflete. We are over the moon.

Our kids (5th and 10th gr) did elementary school in French, then homeschooled in French and English online programs.

The transition as we look for new work and a home has gone without a hitch as the school has provided a safe and engaging foundation. The faculty clearly works with new families in mind to ease their transition to a new community.
There is an emphasis on equity and inclusion.

Back-to-school is staggered so families get back into the swing of things. Upper School has required pre-season sports so kids feel part of something before school starts. (Ours had never done soccer yet played in all the games.) Back-to-school is Outdoor Experience, a week of hiking and camping, or art walks in Boston.

The curriculum is great. Stimulating work with a healthy work/life balance. They love Waynflete and say everyone is friendly. Every day is a good day.

Activities are on campus.
