I really liked my experience at Wayne High School. All of the teachers I had made the classes fun, yet challenging. I appreciate the help the school offered me and that I did not feel invisible. I would change the fact that if you do sports you cannot really participate in clubs because of timing issues. Also, if they offered more access to job shadowing opportunities that would be helpful! Overall, I enjoyed the time I spent at Wayne!

I was a student at New Tech Academy at Wayne high school, which is a PLTW (project lead-the-way) school. During my time here I was granted numerous opportunities that would further my academics and social skills. The culture at this school is unbelievable. Students treat one another like family and learn how to be trustworthy, respectful, and responsible. Teachers build close bonds with students and make the environment an easier place to communicate. The way classrooms are set up and the way courses are taught help students immerse themselves into their fields of interest. Students are open to so many community related projects and gain opportunities by having the open chance to network with important figures of their city. No piece of knowledge I’ve gained at this school has gone to waste. My overall time there has without doubt fulfilled my high school experience and I am excited to take my learnings and place them towards my college career.
Wayne High School, in my experience, has a very sports-oriented and spirited school culture. At New Tech Academy within Wayne HS, a small student population is consistently brought together with team building activities, group work, all school projects, and competition. New Tech is built on collaboration and community. On the Wayne side, there is a greater student population, but it still contains a grand positive and welcoming atmosphere. The current principal is also very charismatic and supportive to all students, no matter the race, ethnicity, gender, and background. Wayne High School has an extremely diverse student population with students from many different cultures and backgrounds.
