We have loved Waterloo Christian School for our 2 older boys. Our oldest started in Kindergarten and is currently in 10th grade. He took a year break at another school, but we quickly learned WCS was best. Our 2nd son started in PreK at 5 years old which was perfect for him as I had a major surgery and Mrs. Williams was amazing and worked with him as his little world was rocked for a bit. He is currently in 8th grade and doing well. We are sending our 3rd son to PreK after Christmas break. We are so excited to have another boy at WCS! We have seen the school go through rough spots and are very thankful we have come through them. The school has changed a lot since we have been there and I would say it has just gotten better. No school is perfect, but this school is definitely worth the financial sacrifice!
At Waterloo Christian School, I really liked how much the teachers cared about their students, both through wanting them to be educated as well as disciplined. I think that the teachers are decently mindful of what other teachers are assigning for homework, so that their students are not burdened with multiple big assignments all the time. Small class sizes allow for more individualized assistance on assignments when needed, and allow for you to get to know your classmates pretty well. The overall environment is good; people are friendly. I cannot comment on how good their sports are, because I was not involved in the athletics there, but from what I've heard, others do enjoy participating in those activities. If I could change something about Waterloo Christian, I think I would want the administration to be more open to student/parent requests and suggested changes, as well as quicker in responding to those requests.
Waterloo Christian has an incredible teaching and administrative staff that show their genuine care in the overall development of my children (mentally, academically, emotionally, and spiritually). They truly invest in their students' education and character development. I couldn't be happier with my choice in enrolling my kids at this school! I highly recommend this school!
