I have been at wws for years and have always enjoyed it. One of the most special aspects of the school is how you can build relationships with your teachers. The teachers are excellent and experienced but are willing to listen to you, communicate, and help clarify any further thoughts. However, wws greatly lacks in diversity, both in the student body and in the faculty, and does not represent the metropolitan area the school is located in. Furthermore, being a small school, wws lacks many athletic resources and has very limited athletic opportunities. However, we do not lack school spirit, especially during basketball season.

Two years ago this school underwent a major renovation making reviews regarding the physical structure prior to 2016 outdated. Out of all the high schools I have visited, WWS is the most nurturing and thoughtful. Small class sizes combined with teachers who care deeply, create an intimate and thought provoking environment. My 5th grade daughter loves going to school. My high school son works hard yet is not overwhelmed. The school is all about quality of work over quantity and creating balance between sports, arts and academics. Technology is introduced in MS and cell phones are not allowed in HS during school hours. The food is delicious and the grounds are simple and beautiful. The families are down to earth and varied. Room for improvement: more racial diversity and stronger commitment to sports. WWS is about balance. In the DC area, this is what sets it apart.
I have attended WWS since the kindergarten program. The only things I would change about the school is to increase the diversity of all kinds (ethnicity, religion, LGBTQ, etc.) and to increase the kinds of sports programs that are offered.
