I have loved going to Washington High school for the past four years. My school is different than any other schools in my city because of the major diversity we have with different races and religions. It is unique because of everyone’s wide spread passion and school spirit that radiates through the halls. Whether it be at sporting, musical, or theatre events, Washington staff, students, and supporters are there with warrior pride. I would improve our school in a way that merges our diverse student body so each student has the opportunity to learn and understand each other’s back grounds and unique upbringings. Overall my school offers so many opportunities in and out of the classroom and being involved is a key characteristic of a Washington student. Our school is one big family of diversity which adds a positive and competitive touch to Sioux Falls.

During my 4 years attending WHS, I have always felt included in some way or another. There is never a dull moment walking through the halls. You see teachers saying hello to everyone they can, students engaging with another, and better yet, you see the diversity of each and every person that walks through those front doors. The academics are great, the sporting events are fun, and the teachers and staff are more than words can describe. The staff at WHS do not push students to continue a post-secondary education. Rather, they encourage us to just do what we think is best for our futures, whether that is continuing onto the military, a university, a tech school, or just continuing to work. Washington High School is the best school in the nation and will continue to thrive in everything they have to offer.
I think Washington High is one of the most amazing schools there is. Every staff member is an incredibly hard worker that does the best they can to help students succeed. There are also so many sports and clubs and activities to be a part of at Washington that it would be almost impossible to be a part of every single one across all 4 years attending. You can even start new clubs by submitting your ideas to somebody in the student services department!
