Washburn Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.75 out of 5 182 reviews
My overall experience at Washburn high school was fairly positive. I made many influential relationships with friends and staff that have helped me throughout my life thus far to become the person I am today. The teachers and staff at Washburn are always willing to help me when I am struggling and offer ways to plan ahead for my future. My peers and I at Washburn push each other in our academic careers and offer helping hands when we may be struggling at a task. This has helped me to become a better learner as well as a better teacher to others. However, there are some changes that I believe could be made in order for Washburn to become a better environment for the students. One thing I would like to see a difference in would be learning more useful skills for studying/test-taking, particularly in non-advanced classrooms. This would help everyone in the building, to discover more about their own strengths and weaknesses as a student, and help them improve as a learner.
Washburn High School is a diverse and welcoming school. The student body is kind and exceptionally welcoming. Most of the teachers care a lot about their students and go above and beyond to help students study for tests, work on homework, answer questions, etc. However, there are a few incompetent teachers who did not teach anything and/or were never willing to help.
I'm a graduating senior at WHS this year, and overall I've loved my time there. It's a very diverse environment, which is great because you get to hear tons of different perspectives. As someone who has participated in many seasons of sports at WHS, took several visual arts classes, and was a member of the National Honor Society for two years, I highly recommend trying sports and clubs and different classes to get connected with others. The people are fun and generally very supportive. WHS arts and athletics have by far been my favorite experiences!
