I have enjoyed my three and a half years at Wando High School. It has a diverse student body affording you the opportunity to make friends from many different backgrounds. There is a wide variety of classes available to aid students prepare for their future. I have been able to take AP classes and now in my senior year, college classes. Mirroring the variety of classes are the many clubs, sports, the arts and music classes available. I have been in chorus since freshman year and was honored to be accepted into the Show Choir for my senior year. If I was to say there was a negative lurking at Wando it would be the cafeteria food. Even with fast food available, you can only eat so much of it before a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from home looks good!
My four years at Wando High have been honestly excellent. For a school with over 4,000 students, they do a great job making the school seem small and connected. They offer many different clubs, sports, and activities throughout the school you can get involved in. Personally, most of the teacher that I have had have been helpful and really care about your education and wanting you to do well. This type of motivation is very important in preparing students for the future. This large community has provided me with so many new friendships and memories that I will never forget, go warriors!
Wando is a great academic high school. They offer something for everyone. They have College Prep, Honors, AP as well as Dual enrollment classes that count toward a 4 year university degree. Sports ie JV/Varsity Football, Lacrosse (girls and boys), Soccer (girls and boys), Track and Field, Baseball, Softball Music, Marching Band, Art as well as other extracurricular activities are all available. The teachers care about the students future. The school is a large campus but it feels small. The freshman take classes in one smaller area away from the upperclassmen so they don't feel lost in the shuffle. Wando offers buses as well as parking for junior and seniors only. The school offers tours year round.
