I enjoyed attending Waltrip, however due to the Pandemic my senior year was cut short and I didnt get to experience the important events of what Senior year was all about. Although prom and graduation were cancelled, the staff at Waltrip tried their best to make the Seniors feel special. I thought that was really awesome being that they were also experiencing the Pandemic just as we were but they took the time to recognize the graduating class regardless of the circumstances. I am going to miss my coaches who have always encouraged me to do my best in any situation and my school counselor who always kept me informed of my academics and what I needed to do to stay on course. My teammates that I spent the last 4 years playing with and classmates who I got to know along the way, I enjoyed the times that I shared with each and everyone of them.

My experience as a student at Waltrip is one i would describe as very average. The school lacked school spirit, some administrators did their best with pep rallies and "fun" activities but nothing helped. Academic wise the school also lacked a healthy array of qualified teachers. Most teachers were not able to grasp a healthy connection with their students which held them back in their academic performance.
Waltrip High School has a positive on there students. If you were to be involved in a extracurricular such as a sport, this could help you enjoy your high school experience 10x more!
