Williams Highschool has very strict guidelines when learning and some teachers don't teach subjects well but are expected to know either way. A great example is the subject "Math" in all my four years I only had one teacher that is cable of teaching me and learning. Most teachers will get mad at you for not knowing something well enough. Everyone in Williams most just between kids teaches each other to help those who are falling behind. The art department of our school is absolutely wonderful! All of the teachers are extremely talented and make sure you understand and will never leave one child behind.

I have loved my four years at Walter M. Williams High School! They offer so many classes that suit many different people, including myself. As someone who wants to go into the medical field, I was allowed the opportunity to travel to an off-site facility to take classes that allowed me to become a certified nurse assistant. This opportunity was very rare and limited in spacing and I'm glad I got to participate in it. They only thing I would change is to provide more opportunities within a certain field of interest.
My experience at Williams High School has been one of self-discovery. In middle school I found myself the "in crowd." In high school I chose a new path which was less dramatic. I discovered this "place" allowed time for new friends and choices not noticed before. For example, many of the "in" students dropped orchestra class with complaints of "weird" students in the class. I enjoyed my fellow students and their love of music. I am pleased I have played the violin from the fourth grade to my senior year. Academically, my English and Chemistry teachers pushed me to "stretch.” Each teacher taught me to use a new lens to discover more about myself. Often not remembered are the cafeteria employees. My elementary bus driver works in my high school in the cafeteria. Her smile and kind words make my day now just as they did then! School has been about the people. My "take away, life lesson" from Williams High School is to remember all of the people, not just the stars.
